A second PSR breach could hit Everton before the season is up, and fans may not have to wait any longer than Friday 5 April to learn their dreaded fate after what Kieran Maguire said.

Speaking via The Price of Football on Thursday (4 April), the football finance expert said: “These are the accounts that Everton have previously submitted to the Premier League by 31 December 2023 and, therefore, they are the accounts which have formed the basis of the second commission hearing.

“That has taken place and we’re anticipating a verdict being published I think possibly Friday but probably more likely next Monday or Tuesday, with regards to the commission.

“Given that the losses are higher than anticipated, I think the expectation in terms of a points deduction are not as positive as I was previously feeling.”

Considering the current battle with Manchester City over 115 PSR breaches of PSR, Evertonians, as well as Nottingham Forest, are the team most likely to be against the “luxury tax” change, as they prepare to face a second points deduction this season.

Many fans feel that the change would only help the rich get richer, with the likes of Man City, Chelsea and Manchester United able to continue spending hundreds of millions without much repercussion.
