Bryan King thinks that at this time in the Premier League season, Everton receiving another point deduction would be “terrible.”
Bryan King believes it would be “terrible” for Everton to be handed another points deduction at this stage of the Premier League season.
The ex-Goodison Park scout has called for the Toffees to show the same level of fight they displayed after their previous points deduction, with the verdict over their second profit and sustainability breach just days away.
While speaking on the Price of Football podcast (4 April), football finance expert Kieran Maguire provided a timeline on when the Toffees could expect to discover their fate.
“The second hearing has taken place, and we are anticipating a verdict published, I think, possibly Friday (5 April), but probably more likely on Monday (8 April) or Tuesday (9 April)”.
King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that Sean Dyche’s side still have what it takes to survive, but doesn’t believe it will be easy.
“If they were to be hit with another points deduction then they would need to somehow put a run together like they did earlier in the season, after the first deduction,” said King.
“It would be a terrible time for them to be deducted further points, but I do think they still have a very good chance of staying in the Premier League.
