Ola Aina has made a superb start to life in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest. Now, the one-time Chelsea player has capped a fine start to the campaign by receiving an accolade.

The 26-year-old signed for the Reds from Torino in the summer. He left the Serie A outfit on a free transfer and Forest handed Aina the chance to play in the Premier League.

As a player who can feature anywhere, he might have been a bit surprised to start the season in possession of a shirt. He’s looked very comfortable at left-back and right-back when called upon.

Forest dearly missed Aina on Sunday as he missed the game with Brentford through injury. The Reds had to play Moussa Niakhate at left-back and he received a red card during the game.

Aina has now been rewarded by the supporters for his efforts. He has claimed the Player of the Month for September and it caps a really impressive month for the player.

With competition for places very healthy at the City Ground, Aina will want to be back in a Forest shirt soon. He will hope that he is fit enough to feature at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Aina deserves accolade and there is more to come

Previously, Forest were criticised for their recruitment – and on some occasions, deservedly so. However, recently, the club has taken a meticulous approach and Aina looks like great business.

It really does show how competent Forest are becoming in this sense. Aina didn’t cost a penny in transfer fees and already he looks like a quality signing for the club.

The player was forced to miss Sunday’s game and that was a shame. However, it’s not expected to be a serious problem and hopefully, he can continue to star for the Reds this season.
