Opposition Guide: Bradford City - News - Walsall FC

The Blues have revealed the FA are set to visit the club at a forthcoming game.

It follows a number of incidents at Brunton Park, the latest seeing United facing a crowd misconduct charge over the Bradford City play-off game.

Carlisle have until next Monday to respond to the charge, which appears to concern the pitch invasion that took place after United’s victory in May which secured their place in the League Two play-off final.

The charge was announced on Monday evening and, a day later, chief executive Nigel Clibbens issued an official comment on the club’s behalf.

“I reported that this incident was an open issue at fan meetings including, the latest [CUSG] meeting last week.

“We submitted our observations at the time and now, four months on, the charge is confirmed.

“We are reviewing the options and will make our response to the FA in the next few days. We will update fans further at a later date.

been informed that we will be having an FA inspection at an upcoming game to look in detail at our progress on impbroving fan behaviour

It is the latest charge to be levelled at United, who were also fined over racist chanting in the Bradford City league game at the Blues’ home ground last Boxing Day.

Clibbens said there has been a “general improvement” in fan behaviour recently, but the director repeated the need for good conduct at all times.

“The passionate support of our fans is a vital part of what makes coming to our games so special. We must not lose that – we need more of

more of it,” he added on United’s website.

“It is completely understandable that emotions run high, but that doesn’t need to lead to misbehaviour.

“We are working hard to address these issues, st charge have yet to be published. The FA’s statement said: “Carlisle United have been charged with crowd control misconduct in relation to their EFL League Two match against Bradford City on Saturday 20 May 2023.

but we cannot do this alone – we need fan support. That is at every game, home or away, including tonight againsb Peterborough United.”

The specific details and reasons behind the late”It’s alleged that the club failed to ensure its spectators and/or supporters (and anyone purporting to be its supporters or followers) conduct themselves in an orderly fashion and don’t commit any form of pitch incursion.
