Between the very early revival of the Race to the Bottom series and our new Futility Watch in the recaps, the relentlessly horrible White Sox are making us work overtime to keep up. And if you are avid follower of South Side Sox on Twitter AND a dutiful recap reader/poll voter, nothing in this story will be new. But for those of you skipping some stories here for your own mental health or simply not down with the Musky odor of Twitter, this is a good place to collect our credits roll of awfulness in the early season.

The season is two-and-a-half weeks old. The White Sox have won two games.

Anyway, brace yourself.

With the 11-4 loss on Sunday, the White Sox set a record for worst 15-game start in their 125-year history, at 2-13.

And the futility of this 2-13 start for the White Sox marks just the 20th time in MLB history that a team has started a season with that record:
1913 New York Yankees
1916 New York Giants
1920 Detroit Tigers
1931 Cincinnati Reds
1944 Chicago Cubs
1951 Philadelphia Athletics
1953 Detroit Tigers
1959 Detroit Tigers
1962 Washington Senators
1973 St. Louis Cardinals
1981 Chicago Cubs
1988 Atlanta Braves
1990 Atlanta Braves
1998 Arizona Diamondbacks
2006 Kansas City Royals
2010 Baltimore Orioles
2015 Milwaukee Brewers
2018 Cincinnati Reds
2022 Cincinnati Reds
