Stuart Pearce has warned West Ham United fans to “be careful what you wish for” amid calls for manager David Moyes to be replaced.
Pearce spent two spells as part of Moyes’ coaching team at West Ham, first in the 2017/18 campaign and again between 2020 and 2022.
And the former Hammers defender believes Moyes deserves more acclaim for his achievements at the club.
Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Pearce said: “Listen, I’m slightly biased, I’ve worked on the inside with Dave, I see the hard work he puts in.
“This is their third European campaign, they’ve got a European trophy. I stood on the pitch, we trained on the pitch one day, and we looked up and over the [129] years history West Ham have got I think they had three trophies up on the awnings.
“And I said, ‘It would be brilliant if you could put one up there’ and he has, you know.
“So over the period West Ham have existed since being the Thames Ironworks back in [1895], they’ve only ever won four trophies by the way [sic] and David has been part of that.
