A fan favorite from Leicester City is planning to transfer to a rival club in quest of consistent playing time.

North End make the trip to the King Power Stadium tonight, facing something of a daunting task.

Guided by former Manchester City coach Enzo Maresca, Leicester sit second in the Championship table with just three points dropped so far.

18 goals scored and only six conceded, Leicester are clear favourites to go up and PNE will have a tough task tonight.

PNE pounced to sign Mavididi on loan from Arsenal in August 2017 with Alex Neil swooping for a season-long deal.

Neil really talked Mavididi up, branding him a ‘perfect fit’ for North End whilst backing him to become a ‘real top player’ in the future.

We didn’t really see the best of Mavididi though; he played just 11 times for PNE, failing to register a single goal or assist.

Arsenal recalled Mavididi in January 2018, sending him straight on to Charlton Athletic after struggling with North End.

The Making Of Mavididi – City's New Star In Focus

Tonight is Mavididi’s first appearance against PNE since leaving the club – and he has come on leaps and bounds since his time in a PNE shirt.

PNE fans were left baffled when Juventus pounced to sign Mavididi in the summer of 2018, just months after struggling at Deepdale.

Mavididi originally started in the Juventus Under-23’s before impressing on loan at Dijon, doing enough to earn himself a permanent move to Montpellier in 2020.

Now 25, Mavididi has developed nicely, hitting 21 goals in 98 games for Montpellier before Leicester paid up £6.4million to sign him over the summer.

Mavididi is already making an impact; two goals and two assists in 10 outings for the Foxes.Mavididi would no doubt love a goal tonight as he gets the chance to show PNE fans how he has improved in the last few years.
