Joe Cole has tipped David Moyes to take on another “big” job if he leaves West Ham this summer amid talk about his long-term future at the London Stadium.
The Hammers boss has come under fire this season for the team’s inconsistent performances, and after a 5-2 defeat to Crystal Palace, Cole thinks an exit could suit both parties.
He insisted that he believes Moyes has done an “unbelievable” job since arriving at the London Stadium, and said he would stick with him, but conceded that seems unlikely at this stage.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [22 April, 11:16], Cole shared: “What he’s done has been unbelievable. I’ve been banging the drum for him because, in the last three years, I think this is the best squad of players that West Ham have had.
“I would stick with him, but the more I look at the situation I feel it’s probably a parting that will happen and it will suit both. I think David’s got another big job after West Ham as well.
“I just don’t understand why the fans can’t warm to him.”
Given the inconsistent results at the London Stadium this season, it has felt for a while that Moyes would inevitably leave come the end of his contract, but recent results could fast-track the decision as frustrations continue to grow.
