Nicolas Burdisso has decided to leave Fiorentina after collaborating with the club for a few years, and could head to Roma, which seek new executives. He’ll depart naturally at the end of his contract, Alfredo Pedullà relays.
The former Argentinian defender has a strong relationship with Daniele De Rossi, who has just been confirmed in the Giallorossi dugout. The capital club has yet to hire a new official after Tiago Pinto departed in February. They are pursuing especially to Monza’s François Modesto. They might ultimately bring in multiple men.
Burdisso joined Fiorentina as a technical director in 2021, reuniting with former Roma official Daniele Pradè. The latter will have a larger role following Joe Barone’s passing. Instead, Alessandro Ferrari went from communication and relations director to head of the business area, the Viola announced recently.
The center-back spent five years with the Giallorossi from 2009 to 2014. He has also starred for Inter, Genoa and Torino throughout his long spell in Italy.
Burdisso got his start behind a desk at Boca Juniors, his first club, in 2018. He relinquished the position after Jorge Amor Ameal became president and onboarded Juan Roman Riquelme. He has also served as a pundit for DAZN after his retirement. Fiorentina have been busy in the Argentinian market during his time at the club.
The Viola are contemplating a reunion with Edoardo Macia or Stefano Melissano, who are both at Spezia, or could attempt to poach Pietro Accardi from Empoli, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
