Meet The New Guy: Kyle Barraclough - Over the MonsterA former Boston Red Sox pitcher has found a new home in the American League West. The reigning World Series champion Texas Rangers have signed Kyle Barraclough to a minor-league deal.

The lefty is an eight-year MLB veteran and he spent the 2023 season with the Red Sox organization. Barraclough has appeared in just 21 MLB games in the past three seasons — both Boston and Texas signed him from the unaffiliated High Point Rockers.

Barraclough posted career-worst numbers in his three outings with the Red Sox. He pitched to a 12.91 ERA with four strikeouts and six walks in his 7.2 innings. He’s a career 3.86 ERA pitcher, a stark difference from his Red Sox numbers.Meet The New Guy: Kyle Barraclough - Over the Monster

Barraclough hasn’t stuck with a big-league team for more than a year since the beginning of his career when he spent 2015-2019 with the Miami Marlins. Hopefully, the pitcher can come through for the Rangers and stay in the major leagues.

Rangers sign former Red Sox pitcher Kyle Barraclough, Johanfran Garcia’s season-ending knee injury.

Red Sox catching prospect Johanfran Garcia was on a hot streak for the Salem Red Sox. He collected five hits in two games between April 30 and May 1, but his hot streak was abruptly halted.

During Salem’s May 1 game, Garcia drilled a deep hit he planned to turn into a double, but he staggered and fell to the ground after he rounded first base. The 19-year-old writhed in pain on the base path and eventually had to be carted off the field.Meet The New Guy: Kyle Barraclough - Over the Monster

Garcia’s injury didn’t look good from the jump, and the Salem Sox later confirmed that his injury is season-ending. The young catcher has been diagnosed with a “significant knee injury,” and he will need surgery on the affected leg.
