May 12, 2024; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA;  Chicago Cubs third baseman Christopher Morel (left)The MLB campaign is over a month in and the Chicago Cubs have been a solid team. They are currently one of the top five teams in the National League with a 24-18 record.

Despite the Cubs finding ways to win, they clearly need to add some more talent to the bullpen. With that being a need, Chicago decided to make a move to improve that group but it was a rather unsatisfying one.

Cubs News: Chicago Traded For RHP Tyson Miller

The Chicago Cubs traded minor-league infielder Jake Slaughter for RHP Tyson Miller from the Seattle Mariners. They created space on the 40-man roster by designating LHP Richard Lovelady for assignment.

The 28-year-old was scooped up on waivers by the Texas Rangers in 2021, starting his run around the league over the past few years. Miller played for the Cubs, Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, and the Seattle Mariners.

Rolling into 2024, Miller got a non-roster deal with the Mariners and eventually got called up to the active roster early in the regular season.
