Former Leicester City star David Nugent has hailed Foxes star Conor Coady as a leader and a loud voice on the pitch, with it being clear how calm he is on the
Leicester signed the 30-year-old centre-back from Everton last summer, but Coady missed the start of the season due to an injury.
On Wednesday, Coady made his league debut for Leicester against Ryan Lowe’s high-flying Preston North End and guided the team to a 3-0 victory.
Nugent believes that Coady did well in his first league game for Leicester and stressed that the centre-back put in a strong second-half display.
The former Foxes star is of the view that Coady is a captain and a leader with a big voice and he added that he is a player Leicester need during tough games.
“First home start and he was trying to force things a little bit.
“He gave two passes away and he was disappointed in himself. You can see in his reactions on the pitch that he was not happy.
“But in the second half, you can see how calm he is.
“When the game opened up, he was so easy on the ball; he was standing with the ball sometimes, like Vestergaard was against Blackburn.
“He is a captain, he is a leader, he is a voice on the pitch and you need in these games to keep the lads going because it was frustrating at times.”
Coady has made a total of two appearances for the Foxes so far and he will be eyeing a spot in Enzo Maresca’s starting line-up for the game against Stoke City at the weekend.
