Ben Woodburn has struggled to nail down a regular first-team spot at Preston since leaving LiverpoolThe retained lists of Championship clubs are now starting to filter through – and a number of players will now be looking for new clubs this summer.

Swansea City have already released their retained list, with first-team duo Przemyslaw Placheta and Liam Walsh both confirmed as departures, along with full-back Nathanael Ogbeta, who spent last season on loan at League One play-off finalists Bolton Wanderers.

Cardiff City are yet to release their own list, with Romaine Sawyers and Sheyi Ojo among those expected to move on.

Both the Swans and the Bluebirds will no doubt be searching for value in the free agent market this summer, and there are several potentially eye-catching names up for grabs.

Jordan Rhodes, Billy Sharp and Bradley Dack all offer plenty of experience in the final third, while former Wales wonderkid Ben Woodburn might well have something to offer a team at this level.Ben Woodburn has struggled to nail down a regular first-team spot at Preston since leaving Liverpool

Paddy McNair is another experienced name that’s become available following his release from Middlesbrough, while there will surely be plenty of interest in Tyrese Campbell following his exit from Stoke City. Hull duo Aaron Connolly and Adama Traore might similarly be seen as potentially worthy of a closer look by some recruitment departments.

A number of ex-Cardiff employees have become available, including Neil Etheridge, Greg Cunningham, Albert Adomah, Sean Morrison and Lee Peltier.

Cyrus Christie was a big hit during his time at Swansea, and there’s perhaps now a possible opportunity to bring him back to south Wales following his release from Hull. Midfield duo George Byers and Sam Clucas are also available.
