Unsurprisingly, Carragher believes that this will give the Blues a much better chance of avoiding relegation from the Premier League next season, but he also thinks that McKenna will benefit from extending his time in Suffolk as a ‘relatively inexperienced’ manager.
“It’s massive, it’s huge for them [Ipswich],” he told Sky Sports.
“He’s done so well in the last couple of years. He’s still relatively inexperienced in his managerial career, but what a fantastic start that he’s made.
“It seems pretty obvious that some of the real big clubs in the country have been speaking to his advisors or maybe him to see what his situation was.
