ARLINGTON, TX — After an eventful weekend in New England, the Detroit Tigers head to the Lone Star State for a three-game series against the Texas Rangers.

The Tigers kickstarted this seven-game road trip with four different games against the Boston Red Sox. After winning the first game of the series, Detroit dropped the next two thanks to a couple of costly home runs. However, the team bounced back on Sunday after squandering a multi-run lead, coming away with an 8-4 win to salvage a weekend split.

For Detroit, it was a positive end to May, and a hopeful beginning to the month of June. The Bengals ended up going 11-16 last month. They are fourth in the American League Central, 10 games back of the Cleveland Guardians for first place, and trail the Minnesota Twins for the last Wild Card spot by four games.

The Rangers have had a near identical series of performances compared to the Tigers. Texas also finished 11-16 in May, and are also four games out of a Wild Card spot. The team ended the month, and kickstarted June, hot, winning five of their last six games, taking two of three from the Miami Marlins over the weekend. The Rangers are second in the AL West, four games back of the Seattle Mariners for first.

This is the second and final series of the season between the two teams. The Rangers came up to Detroit back in April to take three of four from the Tigers.
