Coventry City are sure to be in the market for some new recruits this summer and plenty of players have already been linked with the Sky Blues.

Most recently, reports over in Serbia claimed that Coventry city had struck a deal for Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Stamenic, coming in at £4.26m.

However, local outlet Coventry Live has now said that this is not the case. They do not completely rule out the possibility of the 21-time New Zealand international being a target, but a deal has not been sealed and no signings whatsoever are expected this week.

Stamenic, 22, has been with Red Star for a little over a year. He’s played 35 times since joining, chipping in with two goals and an assist along the way.

It seems likely that Coventry City will be in the market for some fresh options in the middle of the park coming into the summer transfer window.

Ben Sheaf is a wanted man and while the Sky Blues will be keen to keep him, the club have shown before that they will sell for the right price.
