West Ham United are set to shortly complete a deal to sign Brazilian youngster Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras, according to Goal Brasil journalist Valentin Furlan on social media.
Furlan posted on X [5 June] to report that the last details of the deal have been thrashed out between the Alviverde and West Ham, as Tim Steidten looks to earn the fruit of the labours of his Brazilian recruitment trip.
The Hammers will pay up to £25.5m for the forward including £6m in bonuses, with Palmeiras reportedly receiving 20% of any future sale – Guilherme will now travel to London for a medical.
The post read: “Palmeiras has an agreement for the sale of Luis Guilherme to West Ham.
“Hammers will pay up to €30m in total – €7m in bonuses. Alviverde will also have a 20% stake in a future sale.
“Several from the Premier League are interested – but Hammers beat the competition.”
Guilherme set to finally become first West Ham signing
With significant work to be done to build Julen Lopetegui an operational squad for pre-season, Steidten and the West Ham board have been looking to get the bulk of their business carried out early.
