Coventry City are predicting that the club will ‘smash’ the 20,000 season ticket barrier for the first time in the club’s history.
Almost 2,500 new fans have already purchased tickets for the 2024/25 campaign, with over 1,000 of those fans having not bought a season ticket or matchday ticket at the Coventry Building Society Arena at all in the last nine years.
The Sky Blues sold a record-breaking 19,500 last term – a jump from around 13,500 the previous season – and the club now says it’s on target to surpass the 20,000 mark.
Meanwhile, 25% of the 2,500 new fans are female supporters – a higher proportion than the normal female season ticket purchaser percentage of 18%.
A club spokesman said: “These figures have been confirmed as the Sky Blues move towards touching distance of matching the final, record-breaking number of season tickets sold in the 2023/24 campaign of around 19,500. This has been achieved months in advance of last year and it is fair to say that the 20,000 barrier will be smashed for the first time if previous purchasing trends are followed.”
The club have not indicated yet if there will be a cap on season tickets to ensure sufficient matchday availability remains, but fans are encouraged to make the most of the Early Bird window and to “not take that chance.”
