Maximilian Beier has been linked with Nottingham ForestNottingham Forest are said to be keen on young German forward Maximilian Beier ahead of the summer transfer window opening on Friday.

Strengthening head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s attacking resources will be a priority for the Reds as they look to push on in the Premier League. Free agent striker Che Adams is already on their target list, and now a new name has emerged.

According to German newspaper Bild (via Sport Witness), Forest are among the clubs interested in Beier. But the Reds would seemingly face a fight – and a significant transfer fee – to clinch the Hoffenheim front man’s signature.

Liverpool, Brentford and Bayer Leverkusen are also credited with an interest in the 21-year-old. However, Manchester United appear to have made the first in trying to lure him to the Premier League.Maximilian Beier has been linked with Nottingham Forest

United are said to have asked Hoffenheim what the terms would be to sign Beier. The player’s club responded by pointing to a 32.5 million euros (£27.3m) release clause – although that clause reportedly reduces by about £2m a year.

Beier netted 16 goals and weighed in with three assists in 35 appearances for Hoffenheim on his way to being crowned their player of the season for 2023/24. The youngster is part of the Germany squad for Euro 2024, having only made his senior debut for his country earlier this month.
