Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Leicester City will face a deduction of at least “six points” in the 2024-25 campaign.Leicester City face 'six-point deduction' with more punishment to follow- Wyness

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested even more punishment could come if the Foxes are relegated from the Premier League next season.

Leicester were charged with a breach of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) in March, months before they were promoted from the Championship as champions.

As per the Daily Mail (6 June), their case could drag on beyond the start of the 2024-25 campaign.

It is claimed the delay stems from the “urgent legal proceedings” launched by Leicester against the Premier League and EFL in the wake of the charge.

The Midlands club, who reported losses of £89.7million for the 2022-23 campaign, are without a manager in the wake of Enzo Maresca’s departure for Chelsea.

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “It’s a very complex case for Leicester because it involves two leagues.

“Also, Leicester’s own attack – suing both the Premier League and EFL – has meant things have become even more complex.
