Although the decision isn’t really a surprise, Mason Greenwood’s Manchester United career is finally and definitively over.

The 22-year-old had the world at his feet a few years ago, but a series of decisions in his personal life that made their way into the public domain turned the majority of supporters against him.

Football being as it is Greenwood still managed to resurrect his professional career, with Spanish top-flight outfit, Getafe, giving him an outlet to showcase his enviable talent.

West Ham could be vital for Mason Greenwood’s next move

Out of the glare of the English media spotlight he flourished, and was voted Getafe’s Player of the Season in 2023/24.

With the South Madrid side believed to be unable to afford to sign him on a permanent deal, it’s opened the door for other interested parties, and Italian giants, Juventus, seem to be at the head of the queue.

“We keep repeating since February, March that the Mason Greenwood story is over at Manchester United,” Fabrizio Romano said to CaughtOffside for his exclusive Daily Briefing.

Mason Greenwood could be a new signing for Juventus

“They want to sell Mason Greenwood and my information is that it could be a loan with obligation to buy, so it could be that kind of formula – a potential loan move with buy obligation not option.

“Let’s see what’s going to happen but there are many possibilities around Mason Greenwood, and Man United will take the time to pick the best proposal.

“There is interest from Juventus but they have to sell at least one offensive player before they can land the player.”
