Martin Dubravka has sent a message to his agents as he directly addressed swapping Newcastle United for Celtic.
The experienced goalkeeper is at Euro 2024 with Slovakia currently but is number two at club level to Nick Pope. Celtic have reportedly made him one of their prime transfer targets to replace Joe Hart as number one, with the former England international having retired this summer.
A host of goalkeepers have been linked to joining Brendan Rodgers’ side this summer but now the Newcastle United star has tackled the rumours head-on. Speaking prior to Slovakia facing Belgium on Monday in their Euros opener, Dubravka has admitted he’s heard all about the rumours, confirming an interest and what it’d take to consider moving clubs.
He said: “I am aware that there are rumours, teammates ask me about it, agents and people call me, if there is any truth to it. There was some truth in that a year ago and you see, I stayed at Newcastle, so I still take it as if there is no official offer on the table, then I absolutely do not deal.
