West Ham United have made a £10.9m bid as they enter advanced talks to sign Colombia attacker Jhon Arias from Fluminense, according to RTI Esporte.Jhon Arias-The Next Columbian Superstar

The Brazilian outlet have claimed that the bid could reach £12.6m if all the targets set out in the deal are met.

With an additional £1.6m available if Arias can reach all the objectives he’s set, taking the total to around £14m.

The Hammers’ proposal is “superior” to that of what Crystal Palace, Leeds United, and Leicester all offered.

How does Jhon Arias fit into the West Ham setup?

This isn’t the first time that the winger has been linked with a move to England’s capital.

Back in April, Argentine journalist Christian Martin that the Hammers were among a list of many Premier League suitors.

Since then, talk of a move seemingly died down, however, thanks to this latest revelation, it seems as if West Ham’s South American takeover is well and truly underway.

Just yesterday (13 June,) the transfer of Luis Guilherme to the London-based club was confirmed.

Guilhereme, also a winger, is set to be the first of many additions to the Hammers this summer,

Last season, Arias played a total of 27 times for Fluminense across all competitions and managed to contribute to a total of 11 goals.Jhon Arias-The Next Columbian Superstar

He can play across the front three and has even been used as an attacking midfielder on occasion.

But, his more dominant positions seem to be on either wing. His addition to Julen Lopetegui’s side would allow Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen to push further forward and have their killer instinct in front of goal more often.

It’s clear that The Hammers need more help up front as the likes of Danny Ings and Michail Antonio aren’t up to the standards they need to be anymore.Jhon Arias-The Next Columbian Superstar

Although Arias is a fairly unknown entity, his clinical nature could be vital to West Ham’s season if he is brought to the club.
