Juventus Name Price Tag for Roma & Napoli Target
Roma didn’t have to wait long to learn about Juventus’ demands for their wantaway winger Federico Chiesa. According to Calciomercato, a bid in the region of €25-30 million would suffice to convince the Bianconeri to cut their unsettled talisman leave the Allianz Stadium.
Juventus will listen to offer for Chiesa after Euro 2024 as new manager Thiago Motta deemed the 26-year-old surplus to requirements. But as the Turin heavyweights paid Fiorentina around €50m in total to sign the Italy international in 2021, they’re unwilling to let him go for peanuts.
Roma and Napoli have emerged as the likeliest candidates to provide Chiesa with an escape route from Turin. The player’s agent, Fali Ramadani, has already opened discussions with the interested parties after renewal talks with Juventus hit a standstill.
Despite niggling injury problems over the past 24 months, Chiesa’s quality is undeniable. Therefore, Juventus’ price tag shouldn’t scare Roma off. Meanwhile, Napoli would land the Italian in a player-plus-cash deal involving their outgoing captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
One way or another, Chiesa will leave Juventus after the tournament. While he had previously drawn interest from Liverpool and Bayern Munich, he’s more likely to stay in Serie A. The only question is – will Roma beat Napoli to his signature?
Neither side can offer the quicksilver winger Champions League football. But unlike Napoli, Roma can at least bring the Europa League prospects into the equation. Daniele De Rossi sees Chiesa as a potentially crucial summer addition, which could persuade the player to turn his back on Naples.
