July 5, 2024

Just a few weeks after the curtain fell on the 2023-24 Premier League season, we’re already gearing up for another thrilling campaign – with reigning champions Manchester City set to lock horns with Chelsea in a tantalising opening weekend clash.

Manchester United and Fulham are slated to kick off the new season, with the league scheduled for an August 16 start.

Man City had to dig deep to clinch the title last season, securing top spot with a final-day triumph over West Ham, narrowly edging out Arsenal. Meanwhile, the relegation battle was settled somewhat earlier, with Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United all making an immediate return to the Championship.

This means we’ll be seeing some fresh faces, although Leicester City and Southampton will be familiar sights after bouncing straight back up. Ipswich Town completes the trio of promoted teams, marking their return to the top flight after a hiatus of more than two decades.

There will be no winter break in the Premier League this season, providing additional recovery time for teams and players following Euro 2024. The season will comprise 33 weekend game weeks, along with four midweek fixtures and one bank holiday match-up.

The Boxing Day fixtures are set to continue as per tradition, but there won’t be a repeat of last season’s Christmas Eve match. This year’s festive fixtures include a London Derby between Chelsea and Fulham, while Arsenal, who finished second last season, host Ipswich at the Emirates Stadium.

The North London Derby between Tottenham and Arsenal is scheduled for September at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and January at the Emirates. Here are the full Premier League fixtures for the 2024-25 season.
