Matias Soulé has been linked with around half the Premier League over the past few months, as Juventus hope to be to sell the young Argentine for a good fee.
The 21-year-old attacker spent last season loan at Frosinone and despite him being highly rated, Juve want to cash-in so they can spend the proceeds elsewhere.
West Ham have been the club most strongly linked recently, and now Corriere dello Sport set up a battle between the Hammers and AS Roma.
According to the Italian newspaper, there’s been contact in recent days between Roma and Soule’s entourage. The point of that is to try and find out whether he’d be keen on the move.
They apparently got a very positive answer, and Corriere dello Sport state the player ‘would come running to Rome’.
That’s partly because his compatriots Paulo Dybala and Leandro Paredes are at the club, but also because he feels Daniele De Ross’s tactics would suit his style.
West Ham are presented as the competition, with Borussia Dortmund getting a mention too.
One thing can be pretty certain, Roma won’t rush in to pay Juventus’ €40m asking price. Earlier this week we covered an Italian report which said West Ham are prepared to pay just over half that.
