Newcastle United are one of a number of Premier League teams that have reportedly submitted an enquiry over Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori. According to the Athletic, Liverpool, West Ham and Brighton are also interested in a deal for the defender.

Calafiori is currently in Germany with the Italian national team and was a regular for his club last season. However, Thiago Motta’s move from Bologna to Juventus means it is the Old Lady who are viewed as favourites to sign the 22-year-old who made 38 appearances in all competitions under Motta last season.
