West Ham United goalkeeper Nathan Trott has a medical scheduled this weekend with FC Copenhagen, according to Tipsbladet.
As reported by the Danish news outlet online (19 June), the 25-year-old is joining FC Copenhagen as part of a deal worth £1.2million plus £419,000 in potential add-ons.
Trott will sign a four-year contract with the Danish club.
The shot-stopper has spent the last two seasons on loan from the London Stadium with Vejle Boldklub.
Nathan Trott prepares to say goodbye to West Ham United
This is a move which makes plenty of sense for everybody involved.
After Kamil Grabara was sold to Wolfsburg, FC Copenhagen needed a new goalkeeper, and Trott has a proven track record in Denmark.
In his first season on loan with Vejle Boldklub, he helped the club secure promotion to the Danish Superliga, before helping them survive in the division during his second season.
His performances were so impressive that he earned a spot in the official Superliga Team of the Year, and it is therefore no surprise that FC Copenhagen have opted to sign him.
For Trott, it will be seen as a favourable move after hardly being offered any opportunities with West Ham.
And for the Hammers, they are set to bring in a bit of cash for a player who was clearly deemed surplus to requirements at the London Stadium.
It looks as if the goalkeeper puzzle in East London is now almost solved, with Trott heading out and Fabrizio Romano reporting via X (20 June) that the club have completed the free transfer of Wes Foderingham.
