Everton have identified Marseille’s Iliman Ndiaye as a priority target for the summer window.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the Toffees have followed the 24-year-old for several months.
There are other English clubs chasing Ndiaye, but Everton have taken further steps to sign Ndiaye this summer.
The forward joined the Ligue 1 side from Sheffield United in August 2023. Ndiaye managed 15 goals and 12 assists in his final season for the Blades, but wasn’t able to replicate the same form in France as he managed four goals and five assists from 46 games.
Foot Mercato state the Senegal international continues to have a market in the Premier League, where Sean Dyche’s side are ‘completely crazy’ about him. They tried to sign him before he joined Marseille and even considered making an approach in the winter market.
The report says this summer could be the ‘right one’ for the Merseyside club to try and get this deal over the line.
Everton have a ‘real desire’ to secure the attacker’s services. It’s claimed they have sent an offer to Marseille, but Foot Mercato aren’t aware of the fee proposed by the English club.
