Since he left in 2022, Nottingham Forest fans have been pining for the return of goalkeeper Brice Samba.

The France international opted to leave the club following promotion to the Premier League with the player joining Ligue 1 outfit Lens.

He spent three years at the City Ground and struck up quite a rapport with the Forest fan base.

In total, Samba played 133 games for the Reds and kept 45 clean sheets after arriving from Caen as an unknown quantity.

The player was a master at the dark arts of the game and he simply loved to wind the opposition up whether it be the players or the fans of other clubs.

Now. two years since the player opted to walk away from Forest, the club might have just found Samba 2.0 to bring to the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest signing has the potential to eclipse Brice Samba

The Reds have signed Marko Stamenic and loaned him straight out to Olympiacos but another signing is very close.

We exclusively revealed earlier today that Nottingham Forest won’t loan out Carlos Miguel when he completes his move from Corinthians.

The 25-year-old has passed a medical at the City Ground and it looks as though he will compete with Matz Sels for the gloves.

Miguel has only played 25 games for Corinthians, breaking into the team this season.

However, he already looks to have a bit of Samba about him in his style of play. In a recent game against Sao Paulo, he picked up a booking for shoving a player to the floor.

One attribute that Samba was also red hot at was his ability to move across his line quickly.

In the same game, Miguel produced a magic save to ensure that Corinthians kept hold of a vital point.
