If AC Milan were to sign Romelu Lukaku this summer on loan from Chelsea, they would not be able to complete the long-awaited deal for Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below), the Rossoneri would not have the capacity to bring both strikers in this summer, as well as targets for other areas of the squad.

Milan have started talks with Lukaku’s agent and Chelsea to see whether a loan move would be on the cards. It would be Lukaku’s third loan in Serie A since he signed for Chelsea, the others being at Inter and Roma.

Despite Enzo Maresca now being in charge at Chelsea, there is no suggestion that the Premier League side wants to keep Lukaku and the Belgian striker should be on the move again.

He managed to score 21 goals last season for Roma across all competitions but the Giallorossi cannot afford to keep him.

The problem for Milan is that they cannot afford to bring in Lukaku and Zirkzee when they only have a starting role for one of them, and it would be a serious test for Paulo Fonseca to keep both players happy with the amount of minutes on offer.
