It looks like Eddie Howe may not get his wish after all this summer as Newcastle United look to refresh the squad.

Eddie Howe spoke about his desire to keep Callum Wilson at Newcastle next season calling him an important player and saying that he’d be too expensive to replace.

However, that hasn’t stopped the 32-year-old being linked with a move away from St James’ Park before the new season gets underway.

Moves to Saudi Arabia or West Ham have been mooted so far for the £20million former Bournemouth man, but nothing has progressed beyond rumours as yet.

Callum Wilson has got fans speculating

Last night, however, Wilson posted something to his Instagram reels which has got Newcastle fans’ chins wagging.£20m Newcastle star potentially drops hint over his future with cryptic Instagram post

Wilson is no stranger to a cryptic post to get the fans talking with his four-picture effort back in January which ultimately led nowhere, now he’s done it again posting an image with the words “Growing sometimes means leaving people behind”.

Obviously, this could be a reference to anything, but fans are speculating that it’s a hint that he’s on the move.

An £18m bid for Wilson would be too good to turn down

Wilson could still fetch almost as much as Newcastle paid for him if he were to move this summer despite his age and injury record, with West Ham eyeing a potential £18million move.£20m Newcastle star potentially drops hint over his future with cryptic Instagram post

If that offer were to come in it would be very difficult to turn down given how it could positively impact Newcastle’s budget.

This post suggests that Wilson may be willing to accept his fate if that offer arrived.
