This weekend will see the eagerly-anticipated return of major Sheffield Wednesday fan event ‘Owls in the Park’.

The popular event, which is held on Hillsborough Park, has long since been a key date in the diary of Wednesdayites who are welcomed to enjoy a carnival atmosphere while getting the opportunity to rub shoulders with players and staff ahead of the new season.

It was last held in 2019, with logistical issues, schedule clashes and the small matter of the Covid-19 pandemic having prevented its staging since. Wednesday figures including Danny Röhl will get their first taste of the event, which figures past and present have previously described as a display of the size of the club’s fan base.

As is tradition the Owls squad will also be in attendance, it has been confirmed, with their quartet of new signings Ben Hamer, Max Lowe, Yan Valery and newly-announced Svante Ingelsson all expected to be there alongside the club’s more familiar faces.

Wednesday have described a ‘revised structure and configuration’ for this year’s event, which previously ran from its inception in 2012 up until 2019. The event kicks off on Saturday (June 29) and will run from 11am through until 4pm.
