Flynn Clarke of Norwich City was sentenced to prison for hazardous driving.
A player was sentenced to a year in prison for inflicting serious injury to three people while driving recklessly.
Flynn Clarke, a Norwich City midfielder, pleaded guilty to the charges, which stemmed from an incident in Thorney, near Peterborough, in April 2022.
Clarke, who scored on his Scotland Under-21 debut last year, was also handed an interim driving ban at Cambridge Crown Court during his sentencing.
He hadn’t appeared for City’s first squad since joining two years ago.
He was loaned out to Dagenham & Redbridge of the National League earlier this month.
Norwich City FC, who signed him from Peterborough United for an undisclosed price, stated in a statement: “Following the decision, the club will now consider the matter internally in accordance with its own disciplinary procedure.”
Dagenham & Redbridge FC stated that they “will be unable to make any further comment until Norwich City have completed their own investigation in accordance with their disciplinary procedures.”
