Nottingham Forest are in talks to sign Elliot Anderson from Newcastle UnitedNottingham Forest have reportedly offered Greek goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos to Newcastle United during conversations between the two Premier League clubs over Elliot Anderson.

Midfielder Anderson, 21, is set to become Forest’s third signing of the summer after a deal worth around £35 million was agreed with the Magpies. Anderson has risen through Newcastle’s academy and is highly-rated by manager Eddie Howe but they are willing to sell him in order to meet Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

ChronicleLive have now reported that Vlachodimos’ name has come up in negotiations. The 30-year-old glovesman has been capped 42 times by Greece and played seven games for Forest in his first full season at the City Ground. Vlachodimos conceded 18 goals in those matches and shipped five at Fulham on his last Premier League outing in December.

Newcastle could sign Vlachodimos as competition for number one Nick Pope with Martin Dubravka expected to leave Tyneside later this summer.

Forest are heavily involved in the last-minute scramble to sell players in the Premier League today. Clubs are looking to raise cash to stay within the PSR guidelines.

Moussa Niakhaté is on the verge of a transfer to French side Lyon for a reported £26m. The 28-year-old Senegal international is expected to sign a four-year contract with Lyon.
