Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh has agreed personal terms with Brighton after they had a £33million bid accepted for his services, sources have told Football Insider.

Minteh has flown to the south coast from Gambia and is preparing to undergo a medical ahead of his move to the Amex Stadium.

The deal will smash Brighton’s transfer record after they paid Watford £30m to sign Joao Pedro last summer.

Newcastle have given the 19-year-old permission to discuss personal terms with Brighton after the two Premier League sides agreed a fee on Saturday.

Minteh is now expected to join Brighton despite his contract at St James’ Park running until 2028.
