Arsenal are reportedly targeting a move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

The Gunners haven’t yet signed a player in the ongoing transfer window, but they are expected to bring in reinforcements over the coming weeks.

A new striker and central midfielder are said to be a top priority for the North Londoners, while they are also in the market for a defender.

They have been heavily linked with a move for Riccardo Calafiori, who has also sparked an interest from Juventus.

The Old Lady have been the frontrunners for the 22-year-old all summer but they are yet to get a deal over the line.

Arsenal are also chasing a deal for Calafiori but if unsuccessful, they will move for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi as an alternative, per Football London.

However, there are suggestions the Eagles will demand over £60 million for the talented centre-back.

Guehi has made enormous progress in the last few years at Selhurst Park, with the 23-year-old’s displays attracting admiring glances from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

The defender has been a standout performer for England in their Euro 2024 campaign, helping Gareth Southgate’s side to secure two clean sheets in three group games. Crystal Palace Football Club Flag Waving in the Wind on Green Screen Stock Footage - Video of textile, coat: 295292640

However, Mikel Arteta’s side are unlikely to fork out £60m for Guehi as they need reinforcements in other areas too.

Clubs in the Premier League have also been wary of overspending on new recruits in order to comply with the financial fair play rules.
