As revealed by Serbian outlet MozzartSport, the versatile youngster – who can play as a central defender or holding midfielder – is due to sign a long-term deal at Newcastle and plans are already in place for him to be loaned out ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, with a season-long switch to the Netherlands or Belgium lined up.

It’s believed FK Jedinstvo are due to receive around £800,000 for the transfer, with his current club also inserting a 20% sell-on clause into the deal, ensuring they receive a hefty pay-out if he goes on to secure a decent move in the future.

Pivaš is highly-rated in Serbia, who he represents at youth level and has already received huge praise from former Man Utd midfielder Nemanja Matic, who has had this to say about his fellow countryman:

“He’s a huge talent and serious potential, If he continues this way, he’s on the path to the national team. In my opinion, we haven’t seen a player with such predispositions since Nemanja Vidic and Branislav Ivanovic.”

The teenager was spotted on Tyneside last month, where he was accompanied by the club’s player liaison officer outside St James’ Park.
