It’s been quite the week for Philadelphia Phillies top prospect Aidan Miller. On Tuesday, Miller and fellow top prospect Justin Crawford got some exciting news when it was announced that both players were chosen to represent the Phillies in the MLB All-Star Futures Game. And judging by the video released by the Phillies of the two receiving the news, both were ecstatic to be selected for this honor.
Taking place on All-Star weekend, the event showcases the best minor league talent from every team in MLB, with Miller and Crawford being easy choices after putting up strong first-half performances at High-A Jersey Shore. While Phillies fans wait for Miller and Crawford to make the highly anticipated jump to Double-A Reading later this summer, both will lace them up and gain some national attention as teammates during the Futures Game on July 13.
Phillies top prospect ranks among biggest risers in MLB Pipeline Top 100 update
In addition to being named to the Futures Game, Miller has also seen his prospect stock make another impressive leap when MLB Pipeline released its updated Top 100 prospect list earlier this week. Previously ranked as the No. 45 prospect, Miller jumped to No. 27 and was one of the highest risers on the list.
The 20-year-old shortstop has made a tremendous case for himself after batting .240 with seven home runs, 34 RBI and 13 stolen bases, and was recently promoted to High-A Jersey Shore after being a menace at the plate for Low-A Clearwater. The Phillies 2023 first-round pick has certainly impressed during his first full season of professional baseball, and it’s anyone’s guess where Miller will be ranked later this season if he keeps producing at his current level.
