Striker Ashley Nadesan was added to the growing Gillingham injury list on Saturday.

The striker was recalled to the starting line-up by interim boss Keith Millen on Saturday but hobbled off after barely 15 minutes with an ankle injury.

More: Happy ending to a tough week

Gillingham were already missing several key men which led Millen bringing in some of the club’s B Team players to make up the numbers.

Striker Ronald Sithole and forward Matty Macarthur were named in the squad to face MK Dons.

Speaking after the game on Saturday, Millen said that Nadesan’s ankle was “quite swollen” and they will assess it on Monday.

“There were a couple of times before he got injured that he was almost in,” said the coach, having restored him to the starting line-up.

“I wanted him to use his running power in behind and there was space for him but it doesn’t look great with his ankle at the moment.”

Jonny Williams was set to feature on Saturday before injuring himself in training.

Millen said: “He was fit and ready and he went in for a tackle in training and stretched his ligament in his ankle. That might settle down quite quickly.”Ashley Nadesan picked up an early injury for Gillingham on Saturday

George Lapslie started the game against Crewe in the week but continues to be troubled by a hamstring injury.

“He tried playing with it and we have had to be careful,” said the coach, who left him out on Saturday.

“We don’t want it to be long-term injury. Protecting him (on Saturday) might clear it up completely.”

Captain Shaun Williams has now missed the last two games with an ongoing knee issue and Millen hopes he can feature soon.

“Willo is a massive part of the group,” he said. “You want him involved, he just wasn’t quite right.”
