Justin Wrobleski Making MLB Debut | YardbarkerDue to a handful of injuries to the starting rotation, the Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly calling up left-handed pitching prospect Justin Wrobleski from Triple-A Oklahoma City to make a spot start on Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya was first to report the news.

The 23-year-old is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the Dodgers’ system and is in line to make his major-league debut after just two Triple-A appearances. Entering the season, he was the Dodgers’ ninth-ranked prospect.

In 13 starts (78 innings) between Double-A and Triple-A, Wrobleski has a 3.23 ERA and opposing hitters have hit just .239.

Because of the injuries and short starts from several starters recently, the Dodgers are opting to reach into their depth rather than tax the bullpen with more innings. The starters haven’t completed five innings since Gavin Stone’s complete-game shutout more than a week ago.Justin Wrobleski Making MLB Debut | Yardbarker

Wrobleski was selected in the 11th round of the 2021 MLB Draft. His arrival on Sunday plugs a hole for the Dodgers who need to give their starters an extra day of rest.
