Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier is being considered by Marseille over their number one position, but two major factors are scuppering the prospect of that happening.

Major player sales are not currently on the agenda for Daniel Farke and the 49ers after being forced to part ways with Archie Gray at the start of the month.

However, it hasn’t stopped links from persisting to key players leaving the club for pastures new in the Premier League and across Europe.

There’s a lot of contrasting reports with regards to Illan Meslier’s future at the moment, recently linked with a move to join Roberto De Zerbi’s new project at Marseille.

The latest comes from L’Equipe who shared that he is one of a four-man shortlist to join as their new number one as Pau Lopez moves to the exit door.

Also on the list are former Nottingham Forest stopper Brice Samba, as well as Filip Jorgensen, and then Alvaro Valles.

The latter appears the most likely to join as reports surfaced this week sharing that Las Palmas and Marseille had come to an agreement over an £8.4million fee to sign Valles.
