Evan N’Dicka has been training regularly with Roma during the pre-season and he’s expected to be a regular starter under Daniele De Rossi this season.
Ivory Coast international N’Dicka is preparing for his second season at Roma and, as reported by Il Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday, he’s expected to be a regular starter under De Rossi.
The Rome-based paper notes on page 13 that N’Dicka was not a regular starter under José Mourinho, who was forced to play the ex-Eintracht centre-back due to recurrent injuries to Chris Smalling.
N’Dicka Roma status changed with De Rossi-Mourinho switch
On the other hand, De Rossi quickly switched to a four-man defence, and the 24-year-old immediately became a regular starter under DDR.
His status won’t change in 2024-25, as N’Dicka is expected to be the regular Roma starter alongside Gianluca Mancini.
The Ivory Coast international was stretched off the pitch with chest pain during a Serie A game against Udinese in April, but further medical tests ruled out a heart condition.
N’Dicka has been training regularly with his Roma teammates during the pre-season.
The Giallorossi will make their 2024-25 Serie A debut away at Cagliari on August 18.
