Sunderland have now enquired about signing a Tottenham Hotspur man on loan this summer.
Sunderland may look towards the Premier League for loan signings this summer, having had successes with the likes of Amad Diallo in the recent past.
The Black Cats though are enduring another slow transfer window. Kristjaan Speakman has only brought in two players so far; free agent duo Simon Moore and Alan Browne.
Sporting director Speakman is eager to add strikers to the Sunderland ranks this summer, though he’s not having much luck so far.
Sunderland have had a bid for Alexandre Mendy rejected, with French club Caen wanting more than Sunderland’s sub-£1million offer for last season’s Ligue 2 Golden Boot winner.
It comes after yet another season of misfires in the Sunderland attacking ranks, after last summer’s trio of striker signings managed just three league goals between them in 2023/24.
Now though, there’s a new striker on Sunderland’s transfer radar this summer.
Sunderland make enquiry to sign Will Lankshear on loan from Tottenham Hotspur
It’s reported that Sunderland are among the sides to have enquired about young striker Will Lankshear at Tottenham Hotspur.
Lankshear, 19, has signed a new five-year contract with Spurs and is now expected to leave the North London club on loan this summer, per GIVEMESPORT.
The same report reveals that Sunderland and Championship rivals Hull City, along with League One Wrexham, have all made enquiries to sign the Englishman on loan this summer.
In 24 Premier League 2 appearances, Lankshear has an impressive 18 goals, but he’s yet to feature in the Premier League for Tottenham.
