Real Betis have already signed both Marc Roca and Diego Llorente from Leeds United this summer.

The Andalusian club plan to return to Leeds again for Junior Firpo. Earlier this week, ABC Sevilla reported they have initiated fresh talks with the Whites for the left-back.

Mucho Deporte claim the La Liga side are making ‘advances’ in their efforts to sign the Leeds player.

The Dominican Republic international was previously at Real Betis and the report claims he’s keen to return to the club in this window. This helps the Spanish club make progress, ‘little by little’, in their negotiations with Daniel Farke’s side.

A return to Real Betis will see the 27-year-old play in the top flight and in Europe, and this would be more attractive for him than playing in the Championship.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have been offered several left-backs, but they are waiting to ‘unblock the operation’ for Firpo. His contract lasts until 2025, meaning this window will be Leeds’ last big chance to earn a decent fee from his sale.

Mucho Deporte state: ‘The loan that Betis is working on is feasible, but the termination of the contract by the footballer cannot be ruled out.’

If Leeds were to sanction a free loan deal, they will eventually lose Firpo as a free agent in 2025. This may be why the option to terminate his contract this summer can’t be ruled out.
