AFC Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has praised the work done by the Cherries hierarchy in recently securing the long-term services of two key players to the squad and the 41-year-old believes that there is likely to be news on further contract deals in the future.
Last month, AFC Bournemouth announced the news that Dominic Solanke and Philip Billing had both agreed new four-year deals at Dean Court. But there is another half a dozen players from the current Premier League 25-man squad who will be potentially looking at signing new deals or thinking about leaving the club when the 2023/24 Premier League campaign reaches its conclusion.
Regular first-team players include Ryan Christie, Lloyd Kelly and Adam Smith, on the fringes are Ryan Fredericks, Emiliano Marcondes and Darren Randolph.
Fredericks, Marcondes and Randolph are yet to feature under Iraola with both Fredericks and Marcondes suffering with injuries and Randolph a firm third choice behind captain Neto and second choice Radu.
Christie and Kelly however have proved ever-present, when they are available for selection, Iraola has picked them, with the only occasion that he didn’t was following the transfer window closing in September.
On that occasion, Kelly had been the subject of transfer rumours involving a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur.
AFC Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola told the Daily Echo…
“I think the club is managing these situations well.
“We can see with Philip, with Dom, now I think they are working on different deals with the players.”
