Former Chelsea and Crystal Palace striker Loic Remy has announced his retirement from the game. He has decided to call time on his playing career at the age of 36. As covered in a report by GetFrenchFootballNews, the player broke the news on Prime Video. His last club was Brest last season.

Remy penned a short-term deal with the Ligue 1 side in February. However, he wasn’t offered an extension by his previous team and has now decided to hang up his boots.

He started his career as a youngster with spells at Lyon, Lens, Nice and Marseille. The ex-France international, who made 30 caps for his country, moved to London in January 2013 to initially link up with QPR.Loïc Rémy - Player profile | Transfermarkt

Remy went on to make 16 appearances for the R’s altogether and scored six goals. He then had a loan spell away from the Hoops at Newcastle United before Chelsea snapped him up.
