while Bruins fans patiently await the news that the historic franchise has come to a contract agreement with goaltender Jeremy Swayman, the young netminder took the time to surprise a group of young hockey players in Maine.

Swayman appeared virtually at the University of Maine’s annual ice hockey Youth Summer Camps on Wednesday.

The young hockey players showed their appreciation for the netminder as they chanted, “Swayman!”

The 25-year-old Alaskan native flashed a huge smile while saying, “Love it” to the crowd of children. He even posted the moment in an Instagram story.

Before Swayman turned pro, he played three years in net for the Black Bears. He finished his college career as Maine’s all-time leader with 3,130 saves. Swayman posted a 2.51 goals-against average and .927 save percentage in 100 games with a 47-40-12 overall record. In his final season with the Black Bears, Swayman was named the Mike Richter Award recipient as the top NCAA Division I men’s ice hockey goalie of the year.

Swayman joined the Bruins when he signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Boston on Mar. 18, 2020.
