PHILADEPHIA — Rookie Joey Cantillo didn’t get an easy draw for his big league debut, but at least he’s making his debut.
The Guardians announced after Saturday’s 8-0 loss to the Phillies, that Cantillo would be starting the series finale against Philadelphia on Sunday. All the Phillies did Saturday night was hit four homers and two doubles in dismantling Carlos Carrasco.
Cleveland has not announced the move it made to clear a spot on the 26-man roster for Cantillo. In eight appearances, including seven starts at Class AAA Columbus, Cantillo went 1-1 with a 2.79 ERA. He struck out 39 and walked 19 in 29 innings.
TV/radio: Bally Sports Great Lakes, WTAM, WMMS and the Guardians radio network will carry the game.
