Swindon Town have announced the loan signing of midfielder Joel Cotterill from Championship club Swansea City.
Cotterill, a 19-year-old midfielder, joins Swindon Town following a brief but impactful loan spell with League Two Champions, Stockport County, last season.
During his time with Stockport, he scored his first senior goal in an 8-0 victory over Sutton.
Having joined Swansea City in 2011, Cotterill made his senior debut in 2022 during an EFL Cup match against Oxford United.
“It’s great for me to join a club with so much history,” Cotterill expressed. “I’ve had my first taste of senior football last season and it may not have gone the way I wanted but I’m excited to be here and I can’t wait to meet the fans.”
Swindon Town’s Head of Football, Jamie Russell, shared his enthusiasm about Cotterill’s arrival. “We recently played Swansea in our pre-season programme, and Joel’s technical ability and maturity stood out. He is a ball-playing midfielder capable of filling various central positions. We appreciate Swansea for allowing Joel to join us on loan this season.”
